LEGOLAND

Went to visit a friend in Copenhagen. While in Denmark I just had to go to Billund and LEGOLAND for the first time. Enjoyed Miniland a lot but as there are already tons and tons of good photos from there on The Interweb™ I wont post that many...

Café "Pitten" and it's menu of sodas next to the Traffic School. In Swedish this literately means "The dick", I did not want to drink anything from it. :D

Miniland was invaded by some mallards, made some good waves for the boats. :D

Best thing about LEGOLAND was the amazing Power Builder ride, strap down yourself into a gigantic industrial robot and ride what you programmed. Tons of fun! Here's someone else's video of it:

Unfortunately the park was crowded with kids and what not so there was a looong line for most attractions. Shame, I'd love to ride the Power Builder several times. There's always next time...

RobotWars bot

In March 2005 there was an AFOL-event i Karlskoga with RobotWars, for that I built this robot and in the end won the competition. To learn more about the event see the page for SweBrick VII.

Most of my bricks went into storage but I kept the robot and a RIS-set at hand in case my fingers got the itch. It took a while but the itch came and I decided to tear down the robot and build something else instead. But first I had to snap a shot or two...

Wedge-design.

In the middle I had an arm for lifting via pneumatics, four airtanks that I pumped manually before combat but also an on board compressor. The arm was way to weak to do any difference once into combat...

In the back I had two big wheels that spun fast to bounce away enemies that attacked from behind. The batteries for this function drained and the wheels hardly spun at all. I had two small battery boxes for these wheels and the compressor and two big battery boxes for propulsion.

Guts. I had four motors per wheel hooked to the battery boxes via a number of electrical plates arranged to put out 18V instead. Here's a guide how to build that, but stay cautious!

It was a lot of parts in this robot. :-O

In the end I never built anything with the parts...

Robotkampen

This was the last time we participated, the event used to be on Saturdays but got moved to spring brake when Harri and I are at work. :/ Perhaps we'll give it ago again in 2010?

SweBrick VII

Written 2nd of December 2009.

Olof arranged SweBrick VII in Karlskoga, or SweLUG as it was called back then.

When Harri and Tobbe arrived Akira, Andréas, Jonatan and Johan were playing BrickWars.

One of the activities was RobotWars, this is my robot.

Tobbe won, rendering another +8 while Akira suffered -8.

Now it was time for Andréas to make pieces fly from Harris 'bot.

But in the end Harri won and got +2 while Andréas got -8.

Last round; Harri vs. Tobbe. It was quite even but in the end Tobbe got a +8 and Harri a +5.

Last round, just for the fun of it. MELEE!

Despite the last minute build and heavy losses, it seems Andréas is quite pleased never the less!
