3451 Sopwith Camel

Bought Summer 2001.

Year 2001, 577 pieces

This is by far my best looking LEGO set and a nice statue!

Released under the "Statue" theme at Shop at Home.

A truly nice model.

Technic parts in the landing gear.

Brown and dark gray pieces along with red, tan and some blue.

One of few models that I've used stickers on, but this one is more for display then parts.

The motor do spin with the propeller.

The trick behind getting thr strings tight is to turn the 1 x 1 round plate that holds them, thus putting tension to the string.

Box is gray in print due to the fact it's not intended for shelf display at shops.

How it looked after my NLSO accidently bumped into it and it fell to the floor.

Great pieces

Well worth getting just for the beaty of the whole thing, but:
Large plates
Some specialized pieces

5958 Mummy's Tomb

Bought Autumn 2002.

Year 1998, 253 pieces

The "hero" car.

That midle peice is the worst case of juniorization I've ever seen, instead of two seats and doors it's only one piece.
While I'm beating on that drum, could they not set the rear wheels any further back? :-)

Pretty lousy set but I got a good price on it (50%).
The stone sculpture behind the black minifig slides thus making the spear trap fall. The red thingie with the mumie in the middle can be rotated.

Great pieces

My first BURP (Big Ugly Rock Piece)
Gem
Mumie
My NLSO thinks the printed bricks look's nice (any positive comments is worth typing)

6617 Tough Truck Rally

Bought Autumn 2002.

Year 2000, 376 pieces

Minifig has crocodile pattern on his her chest. She also has green hair to replace the helmet.

There's a rubberband keeping the "wheel arms" togheter acting like a sort of suspension.

Both "Monster Trucks" can be lowered and the box suggests driving under obstacles.

Minifig has a shark on his chest. His smile looks like a rat with big front teeth.

A jump. I suppose this could have been constructed out of ordinary bricks as well.

Judge.

An obstacle to jump over, the 2 x 4 stacks are not attached to the obstacle.

The brown drums can rotate around it's axis thus making this obstacle really difficult to pass.

One of the biggest boxes on the market judging from piece count?

Each model has it's own polybag. Each bag is packed as an individual set in terms of extra pieces. Eg. each sub-poly bag contaning 1 x 1 round plates has one extra per color. I'm not complaining :-) In fact this set has good playability and I would have liked it as a kid - I somewhat like it as an AFOL.

Great pieces

Probably 8-)
